3.5 versus 3 training

So I’m looking to get some training in zbrush and I’ve only found a couple of vids for 3.5 through Gnomon. I have found a ton of training for version 3 though and I’m wondering if the change from those versions is so slight that I would be okay going with zbrush 3 training vids. The gnomon ones I got are all about zsketching so if that’s the major difference then I would guess the zbrush 3 training vids would take care of the rest?

First of, what version of ZBrush are you using?..if v3.5, you should be okay with v3 tutorials, if u got v3, then I guess not recommended for you to get v3.5 tutorials, since there’s a lot of things have changed. One thing that I can recommend for you though is by learning v3 tutorials you can then read the “What’s new feature on v3.5” to catch up with the new added stuff pdf that included with the v3.5 installer.

Basically its best to learn according to the flow (v2 —> v3 —> v3.5 —> etc.) rather than the other way around.

Thanks Revel. I’m using 3.5. Glad to hear the tuts for version 3 should still be useful. Opens up the training options.

No problem, like I said the “New feature” pdf will tell you the difference between the v3 and v3.5, something like new function brush palette, new texture creation workflow, ZSphere2 etc. but you will be okay if you follow through the pdf file…
Cheers.
