3.5 R3 display issue (Resolved)

When I start Zbrush for the first time after booting the computer, I’m having an issue where the program is fixed to one side of the screen, with almost half of it off the display in the lower right corner of the screen. If I close the program and restart it, it goes to its proper position at the center of the display.

When its fixed to the side, I can’t move the program window at all… all I can do is close the application by rightclicking in the menu bar or hitting alt-f4. It’s driving me a bit batty.

I’m on Vista 64 and I’ve updated my display drivers to the latest versions, running Zbrush as administrator, turned off DEP, no dice.

…also, the size of the ZBrush window is stored in the ZStartup/ConfigFiles folder, delete this file and ZBrush will restore to a full size window.

Thanks  But its not working. :frowning: Tried both. First time it starts up, it sets the display wrong. When I remove the .dat file, it recalculated to the wrong part of the screen again. Second start up, Zbrush is fine.

I wonder if it has to do with my display, my native resolution to my monitor is 1440x900, it’s a wide flat screen LCD monitor. In general I don’t have issues with my monitor, I have the driver installed for it, etc. But maybe they aren’t getting along?

Try resizing the window manually and then press CTRL+SHIFT+I to store the position. ZBrush should start at the same window size when launched.

that worked! Thanks!

I am also having this issue with the wrong screen position. It was doing it once or twice but resolved itself with repeated start ups. Now it is constantly starting in the wrong position. I have deleted the .dat file as well as changed the screen resolution. Both these did not work. I cannot change the screen position manually unfortunately as I cannot drag the screen at all. What to do?
