3.5 R2 Exports incorrect scale

Anyone else experience this? This is a major hindrance for production and hopefully Pixologic can fix it in R3. When exporting out an obj from 3.5 the scale is drastically off. It’s literally around 97.489999 tenths in scale. It also screws up the world space coordinates placing everything at the 0,0,0 axis. I’m currently having to go through and resize and reposition all of my pieces for work before I can bake. This is incredibly frustrating. I’ve shelved 3.5 for multiple reasons but this being the biggest issue for production right now.

I couldn’t find any threads on this so if any one has found a fix it would be greatly appreciated.

My God! I have the same problem. I have a model which came out of XSI and which is separated in several bodyparts to gain higher detail level in ZB. So Head, Torso, Legs, Arms are separate OBJ which came into ZB.

Now everything is sculpted and I wanted to reimport into XSI and everythins is messed in coordinates and the parts are in different scale.

Hell!! That never happend in 3.1. I´m very, very frustrated right now.

Any help would be highly recommended.

Have a deadline too.

Many, many thanks.

In my experience this distortion is consistent. You should be able to export all your subtools into maya and re-export them back into zbrush. They should have the new xform info. This is obviously a work around. Hopefully this issue is fixed in the new release. After getting burned by this a couple of times I have a habit of exporting/importing my geo as soon as I convert to poly mesh.

Just got R3 installed and tested importing and exporting an object out. Scale was perfect! Whew! One thing I noticed is that under the export rollout there will be some arbitrary numbers in there that will look odd but don’t touch them. That must be the settings that the obj came in at. If you change them the exported obj from ZBrush will definitely be off.

Can’t wait to dive into the new stuff now.
