3.5 normal map problems

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can help me out here, its to do with the demise of z mapper I know its been discussed alot but I just can’t see how the way 3.5 produces normal maps can be compared to 3.1 and z mapper.

Z Brush is a fantastic tool used by many people to create superb sculpts but the problem I have is working in the games industry I and many other people use Z Brush to produce normal maps for low poly geometry, simple but very important.

I would love for someone to tell me I am going about it the wrong way please, but the results I am getting are nothing short of dismal.

3.5 seems to have a total inability to capture geometry edges, sculpting is ok but even that has vastly different results compared to 3.1

I have attached a couple of examples which I hope explain where I am going with this.

I will leave it there for now and I look forward to getting some feedback on this.
