3.1 Great Job, Pixologic!

Does anyone know what the new “framing” hot key would be? By framing I mean it used to be the delete button or the “.”

Hit the “F” Key. You can also change this of course.

I watched the MEATS MEIER Zbrush 3 Gnomon video and he said to change the function of the shift (at least in V3.0 and if I remember correctly) you would shift click on the brush that you want to remap it to. I never tried it personally but if it’s something your into I would try it out. I think this way will alow you to have 2 stroke types?

But alt doesn’t seem to reverse the brush action anymore? Am I missing something?

Seems to work fine for me. Although of the few brushes I tested, alt-pinch doesnt “un-pinch” like I seem to remember it used to…

hope this is not a silly thing , but ALT+T and all the Others aren’t working anymore ! :cry: :cry:

well well… really nice job, had a few … very few crashes but the reason might be wrong handling.

i notice a really strange thing, and hope it is just a misconfiguration.
compare this 2 screens pls:

why isnt it rendered in zb3 and 3.1 in realtime with tha neat bumps?
i miss teh complete structure overlay, i see only somethin like alpha… rotatin model is the same behavior like with 2.1…

or is this neat realtime bumpy rendering completely gone?

Anybody tested it and worked out how to use it so that the placed objects stay in the correct position or is this problem still not solved.
Pretty dissappointing.
PS I know that sub tools is there but I like the multimarker because it really keeps each object 's attributes much easier and better.

I dont think so…u just press x,y or z and it gets activated automatically, pressing again so all axis are off, disables symmetry (obviously)

3.1 worst realise.
Its many improvements, but interface is BAD.

In 2.5 I can do ANYTHING with interface customization, in 3.0 is limited, in 3.1 more limited!
Advanced StartUp script and interface setup in 2.5 is very clear and understandable, but in 3.1… :frowning:
If that realise be without changing interface is be cool.

How return brush select from 3.0, and turn off text label on everywhere (alphas)? :confused:

GL_EXT_texture_env_dot3 is an opengl extention that is only supported by recent graphics cards. Check to see what your card is.

I ran 3.1 in parallels and when i tried to use zmapper, i got this becuase parallels only supports directx 8.1 and opengl to an early standard…

I’m very pleased with this update. A lot of little things have been addressed making the program far tighter.

ok this is messed up all of my brushes are not appearing in the brush palette for instance"move" or stitch 2 is there a stitch one i cant find? there is no rake. where the heck did all the brushes go and why?

well normally i dislike things like: our steering wheel for this car is on the backseats, the engine is located under your seat and the backmirror is beyond your imagination… but i personally like the improvements of the new interface…

the only thing i dont get is the handly with alphas… sometimes they are just GREY like they were at 50% … not COMPLETE alpha… only 100% when i am draggin from outside of the model… when i paint alpha directly its always about 50… wonder why… it doesnt work to paint over 3 times… the alpha still is 50…

In answer to your saving brushes questions:

  1. There are no options now, just save the brush.
  2. The sliders are now a single slider named ‘BrushMod’ in the Brush palette.
  3. Not that I know but I will look into this.
  4. I am currently writing this and will release it in the
    ZScript Utilities Forum

some how my start up menus have turn up missing with teh exception of the matarials. and now i have lost my “standard” brush so weird. i love everything about zbrush except for the fact every version is way more disorganized then the last.

Ive experimented and it works great with Smooth brush. When you take value close to 100 it will work similar to the previous version Smooth brush, the smoothing wont be so radical and destructive.

What the hell is with that brush?! :frowning: Seriously, it works like flatten and that`s very annoying.

I have now at least 3 :grimacing: ZBrush-Versions running in my workflow. :roll_eyes:

ZB3.0 is fortunately still available for me in 64bit as Main-App. :+1:
ZB2 for all that is missing in 3.0 :wink:

And finally 3.1 in 32 bit that I wouldn’t miss if I hadn’t already installed it.:-1:
