I’m posting this because I can’t send tech support an email, and there’s no support available for version 3.1 for windows, or at least I can’t find it. Which is why it’s odd that your demo is version 3.1 and not 3.5, considering the demo is probably, or at should be, your primary sales tool, and it’s failing. Big time.
Good thing error reporting is fast, but seriously, Microsoft is going to start thinking I’m OCD! It takes anywhere from 5 to 10 tries just to get zbrush to open. Usually it doesn’t even make it past “Initializing Zbrush” to the activation screen, and sometimes it’ll crash immediately after I get past that, and sometimes it’ll crash when I try to load a tool or OBJ file. Even on the rare occasion that it actually gets up and running, it crashes about half the times I try to run DefaultZScript, or Preferences > Init ZBrush. I don’t think I’ve ever been able to run ZMapper or Projection Master without it crashing. In the four days since I installed it, I’ve probably sent well over 100 error reports. Based on some of the information I’ve found on this forum, I even tried turning off my firewall, and it made no difference. Restarting my PC makes no difference either.
My PC, by the way, should be more than adequate to run your software, according to your recommended requirements.
It’s Windows SP3
AMD Athlon 64 x2 4400+ 2.2ghz
4 gigs RAM
So there shouldn’t be any problems there.
Now once it’s up and actually running, and I can play around with it, I do like it. I like the artwork the people are able to produce with ZBrush, and I like the ability to sculpt and paint directly on a 3d model. It’s just that, thanks to your poor demo, the fact that it hardly ever starts up, and the fact that I can’t try out current features in it, I won’t be purchasing a license. Not at it’s current price anyway, that’s for sure.
