Sorry I’ve been missing peoples work recently but I just haven’t had much time to visit the forum. I thought a couple of free programs might be of interest to some members, so here they are. www.kurtz-fernhout.com/order.htm . Takes you to ‘Plant Studio’ which contains ready-made plants, plus you can create your own. It exports 3D files OBJ etc, though as they are not texture mapped you have to paint them yourself in ZBrush. They retain their colours in Vue d’Esprit 4. It’s got facilities to grow the plants and many other adjustments can be made. The registration code is on the site, it is a fully operational program not a demo and with it being free, an unbeatable bargain.
Freebie two is Photomodeler Lite which is free for non-commercial use, Photomodeler Pro is the commercial version for purchase. I think it will take a little study to use it properly, but it can apparently create architectural mesh models, cars etc from as little as four photos, once you can get the hang of referencing the photos. I’ve downloaded Photomodeller in the past, and it looked pretty interesting to me, but I didn’t put the time in it required…
