ZBrush Usage Questions

I just purchased Z Brush 3.5 RE3 off of this site. and am in the process of doing the getting started tutorials. When attempting to do the 2.5D And 3D Tutorial. the simple brush looks nothing like the video. it is a series of red semi translucent squares Sized according to my pressure sensitivity. Is this a Menu option issue. A hardware issue maybe?? I have INT Zbrush at the start of the Tut. So i haven’t hit any menu options. And i have fiddled with this before and not had a problem. Please HELP

Hi, what is happening there is that in the getting started video he has a nice round alpha selected in his alpha menu. You will have to manually select a round alpha first to get the same effect that was shown in the video.

To do that simply just click in that box that says alpha or click on the alpha menu and choose the alpha 01 by clicking on it, this will apply that as the alpha on your currently selected brush, in this case the standard brush.

Ask if you get stuck with anything else, have fun learning.

Thanks so Much. I spent so long trying to figure that out. I am sure there will be lots of question along the way. Tutorials are sometimes far to vague.
