hey, im trying to find a workflow without using goz since my station at work cant properly install it.
so, when i create a 16 bit displacement map in zbrush how do i know what alpha gain and alpha offset values to use in maya?
when i hit “create dispmap” in the tool pallete it shows an intensity value. how am i supposed to use this in maya? when goz exports the displacement the alpha offset and alpha gain settings are much different than the intensity value that zbrush gives.
I’m absolutely furious with zbrush right now. in Version 3.5 it was much more straight forward from what i remember, i had no issues. even the multi map exporter is confusing, and im incredibly angry that there are no complete zbrush to maya workflow documents. multimap exporter gives unusual intensity values as well, i dont know how to use them and nobody seems to be explaining them in more detail.
can anyone enlighten me?
