1.5 COUNTDOWN OGRE.......

Not long now…tick tock…Monday here we come…

This image made with 1.5 Premiere was modeled in two parts, the head and the body. The head was made from a standard sphere and the body was constructed using the amazing new ZSphere tool. The loin cloth, links, bone club and teeth were all modeled on separate layers. The bone club is a ZSphere tool. The image was rendered at 2000x2000 with 2 lights and with soft shadows.

Textured version to follow. You will be amazed with 1.5, believe me.

Glen

I can’t believe the detail…You make it look easy so deceptively easy Southern. Sure hope you will have time to throw together some quick tutorials when 1.5 is released. Love to see this guy all coloured and textured up. Amazing!

This is simply outstanding! It usually takes a fair bit to impress me, however this has well and truely blown my socks off.

There is nothing I can say against this pure stroke of artistic genious.

Perfection in my eyes. I take my hat off to your sir!

S. Warner

Some of the most amazing 3dmodeling I’ve ever seen… Studios use real sculptures and scan them in to get these kinds of results!
Very inspiring Southern!
Hats off Indeed!!

Looks Good Glen :+1:
By any Chance Do you Think a Set oF Brace’s For His Teeth are a Little to late for him.

Awesome! Can you show us a wireframe, considering that 1.5 is right around the corner?

I can see this last week is going to be pure torture.

Stunning Southern.

Man these Z spheres are truly amazing!! This seems like one of the biggest steps forward that CG modeling has taken forward in a long time. It just seems like the whole process (from watching the animated GIF’s) is SOOO intuitive and INTERACTIVE
Thanks Southern for showing us this fearsome beast!!
PS: is all that deatail in the body from that “simple” zsphere structure? or was it manipulated afterward to get things like his belly button, and toenails etc…?

:+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Absolutely fantastic work falls to his kness
He is a beauty !
…but can he ever get that boneclub out his sash ?

Keep it up.

Like my step son would say…

Holy shiiiit, it’s biiigfoot!!!

Awesome modeling and just the thought about having this tool soon makes me wanna cry!!!

Cheers
Michael Hartlef

this is incredible  and you say it was all done in z-brush? man oh man, I really didn’t know you can go down to this fine of detail with the new release, I may just have to change my mind about refining in max 5 when I start using it :stuck_out_tongue:

Incredible work why not post this over on cgtalk.com as well? I’m sure those guys over there need a look at what Z-Brush can really do…

Excellent showcase you have put together of the new version. Excellent!

I might even start modeling more. :warning: I know it is not easy but I guess thinking makes it so. :+1: :+1: :+1:

Even better than the Ascension picture IMHO. This should be the poster child for ZBrush 1.5 An exhibit of masterly proportions. No pun intended.

Great stuff Glen!!!
You are quite the Zbrush ambassador.
jelee

I wasnt this excited about some time. This is really revolutionary tool and great piece of art too. :+1: :+1: :+1:

This is truly the way I see the future of 3D modeling heading! one step closer to doing away with using splines and cages to move vertices and still not being able to get what you want. I can definitly see special FX houses using a tool like Zbrush to directly model stuff. I am looking forward to downloading 1.5, when it’s available…

kudoskudoskudos, what a wonderful advertisment!!!
