Ztool corrupted after subdividing above 50mil polygons

Attempting work on high density meshes. when I try to subdivide a mesh from around 14mil to 50mil (SDiv6 to SDiv7) the new subdivision will be created (SDiv7) but if I drop to a lower subdivision and then return to the highest SDiv, the highest levels detail is deleted.

Trying to add another SDiv crashes Zbrush, and moving to the lowest subdivision corrupts the model.

  • Tried with different ztools old and new. Same problem
  • Exported base to maya and re-imported.
  • un-installed and re-installed zbrush

It might be that your computer setup isn’t up to handling 50 million points, or you may need to optimize ZBrush. Can you tell us what system you have, ie processor, RAM etc?
