Zsphere to Adaptive Skin problem

When I preview the adaptive skin on my zsphere model I get very poor results.
Here is a shot of my zsphere model:

I have tried adjusting the skin settings - but noting really improves the end result.

Any suggestions on how to debug or improve the skin result would be very much appreciated.

Turn off “Use Classic Skinning” in Adaptive Skin palette.

I tried that, it does not have any effect.

Try this:

  1. Turn off the preview (press ‘A’).
  2. In the Zplugin palette, press Transpose Master>StoreTM Rig. (This just copies the zspheres to memory.)
  3. In the Tool palette, select a new ZSphere tool.
  4. Press Zplugin>Transpose Master>PasteTM Rig.

See if that previews any better.

Just wanted to say thanks for the copy / paste trick with zspheres.

Something kept happening to me when I tried to make an adaptive skin: Zbrush would just quit when trying to preview. I had it narrowed down to stray tiny spheres with no bones attached (probably because I tapped them into existence on accident). When I do the copy paste into a new tool I’m able to see those tiny spheres and delete them - I guess Zbrush tries to fix the issues with the model on paste.

I’m posting this in case it helps someone else who is crashing Zbrush when trying to preview a zsphere model.
