Zremesher without defomation?

Does anybody have any good tips on how to use zremesher without deforming the overall shape of your model? ( if its possible at all)

Im modelling a hand, and everytime i remesh the fingers get shorter :-/

any help much appreciated!

thanks
Nick

Hello @nickholl

When you reduce polygons with ZRemesher, you’re going to lose detail and the form will soften. The more you increase the adaptive size slider, the more it will prioritize keeping form intact at the expense of more non-square polygon shapes.

If you set the target polycount higher the form will soften less, but generally ZRemesher is used in conjunction with detail projection to project the detail from your previous high res mesh, onto the newly Zremeshed version that has been subdivided sufficiently to recapture it.
