Zremesher and holes//HP mesh

Hi,

I have created this HP mesh (rock), but when I Zremesh it for LP version I’m getting holes and also like overlapping polys.
My HP is completly dynameshed so its fully closed. I also tried making a unifiedskin version and then zremeshing but all i’m getting is holes and flickering polys. I also my decimated version isn’t working (is broken). It looks like its picking up all the small details of my rock and then gets haywire when creating lowversion poly. So the only thing I was thinking of is that I need to smooth out all the detail so Zremesh doesn’t pick it up. Does anybody have a solution for this? Thanks

Is the object you are Zre-meshing one piece? Zremesher does not combine geometry. If those little stones are seperate meshes, Zrmesher will remesh them as such. In such a case, use dynamesh to first combine the mesh into a single piece.

Otherwise, this is probably just a matter of tweaking the zremesher settings until you get the result you want. The gaps you perceive as holes are probably just stretched polygons that would pop back into place if you smooth them a bit.

Try either increasing the target polycount which will give Zremesher more polys to more accurately model the detail, or decreasing it which will force zremesher to make a simpler mesh with no attempt to capture surface detail.

Also try decreasing the Adaptive SIze slider in the Zbrush menu, which will tell Zremesher to favor make uniform polys over capturing surface detail, which should result in a simpler mesh.

As always, keep in mind that Zremesher creates low poly meshes, so much of that high resolution detail on the original mesh will be lost, unless the Zremeshed object is subdivided, and detail from the original mesh is projected onto it.
