Zproject Brush, not as good as the old days!

Anyone know if you can still use the move tool to select your target using the Zproject Brush?

I came across this old tutorial where he uses this feature (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oX-DiXgN5cc) but I can only get it to work if the geometry is on top of one another.

I’d love to use this as a kind of clone stamp for cleaning up photogrammetry data but its a bit cumbersome without this fast selection.

i’m trying to learn Zproject brush too, also for some photogrammetry, but i’m having the same problem as you do ! it doesn’t even work !
i can’t even have it to work with a flat surface on top of the other one, but here i may do it wrong.

any chance that you got it to work finaly, with the move tool as in this video ?

it’s the only way i’ve found to get some détails back : create a brush from this, then using the brush on the portions of the model that need some détails.
BUT , if Zbrush would be so kind to invent the 3d clone stamp tool like in photoshop, simply with an ALT button to define a source zone, to apply it on another area of the model, it would be fantastic.

thanks !

I wasted today 2 hours trying to get it to work… I saw the same old tutorial
now I realizedthat it doesn’t work anymore with transpose…

Why is such an essential clone stamp function missing?
