Zplug folder not working

No matter which startup folder I put my plugins in they don’t show in the software. I have followed all the instructions for installing plugins with no success…help:cry:

Don

All plugins must be installed in the ZStartup\ZPlugs folder.

When you unzip a plugin you will typically see a folder. Within that folder will typically be the .zsc file (the plugin itself) and a data folder containing other things that the plugin needs. These are what need to go into the Zplugs folder. In other words: ZStartup\ZPlugs\ThisPlugin.zsc and ZStartup\ZPlugs\ThisPluginData\Other files.

ZBrush cannot see a plugin if the .zsc file is anyplace other than the ZPlugs root folder. In other words, if you unzip and then move the whole folder into the ZPlugs directory the .zsc file will be buried too deep for ZBrush to see it.

Zplugins.jpg

The above screenshot shows the proper installation of plugins. Notice that in every case the .zsc file is located directly in the ZPlugs folder, and in most cases there is also an associated data file.

So…what the heck could I be doing wrong. I have tried several other plugins in the same folder with no luck. The only plugins that I see are
Misc Utilities, projection master, and deactivation

Help

Don

Could you show a screen shot of your ZPlugs folder?

Have you ensured you installed the right version for your platform?

What are you using to unzip the files? It’s possible that your unzip program is corrupting the files.

Hi

I’m sure I have the right version and have been using winRar which seems to work for everything else just fine.
I copied and pasted the zplug folder from another machine where at least some of the plugins show in the software. No luck…for some reason I can’t upload an image of the folder?? Is there anything else I can try?
Thanks,

Don

Hi, Here is a pic of my plugins…still can’t get uvmapper to show in Zbrush…

Don

Are you using ZBrush 3.1? The plugins are for version 3.5 only.

Richard

I’m trying to use 3.5…

It’s installed incorrectly. The UVMaster_1.0.zsc is installed right, but you didn’t move the data folder out of the UVMaster folder. So the data is buried too deeply for ZBrush to see it.

I tried this before…still isn’t showing up…

What are you using to extract the zip file? Could you try using WinRAR to see if that works?

WinRar was the software that I used. Everything appears to be ok. Should I try another unzip tool. Can you recommend any or is there a way to get an uncompressed file? I don’t have that machine in front of me now, but when I copied the plugin folder from a machine that the plugins were working to the one that isn’t working, none of them work or even show up. I just wonder if there is another problem causing this.

Don

All the other plugins are working correctly, except UV Master which isn’t displayed in the plugin palette, right?

The only thing in the drop down menu in the program is utilities, deactivate and maybe one other…none of the others show up…?

Can you open a ticket at the support center please? Don’t forget to add your serial number and cleverbridge references number please.

Ok…I did find another program to unzip uvmapper and I will try that when I get home before I do a Ticket…thanks for trying to help…

This is not related to your unzip software as none other plugin are available in the menu. Then you should open a ticket.

The screenshot you’ve shown looks like ZBrush 3.1. The plugins are only for ZBrush 3.5 R3.

Doh! Sometimes it’s the most obvious stuff. I can’t believe we all missed that.
