Zombie head, first Zbrush piece

Hi there everyone!

I’m pretty new to Zbrush, and I’ve been working on my first project for university. I’m studying Computer Games Design, and for Facial Modelling, the assignment is to model my own head, then take it into Zbrush and turn it into a zombie.

Here’s what I’ve done so far. It’s a fairly simple conversion really, but I’m quite pleased with how its going. Though unfortunately there’s a visible pole at the top of the head which I’m not sure how to get rid of.

Please let me know what you think, and any constructive criticism would be great!

Thanks in advance!

In my opinion, it looks like you’re trying to add detail at too high of a resolution already. I usually start adding detail at sub division 3. There, its easier for me to block in where I want things to be for when I get up to a higher division. Also, what are you using for reference? Make sure you have something readily available for you to look at. Should not be to hard to get zombie images over the web.

Also, looks like some foundation issues are present. Can’t really see a jaw line at the side, and the basic form of the nose and ears look likes it lacking. I say you try to model yourself first, then add the zombie effect.
