ZModeler Extrude Point Problem

I’m building up a model with ZModeler and need to extrude a point. The problem is I can’t get it to extrude the face that I want. I’ve attached a screenshot. The point I want to extrude is circled, and I want the green face to be the one that is extruded with the point. For some reason that face never gets highlighted when I’m hovering over the point- it’s always either one of the two purple faces that “surrounds” it. I’m not sure if the green face is too slender so ZBrush isn’t recognizing it for this action, or if there’s something I’m missing?

On a side note, it would be nice if I could just select a face to work with the point extrude operation instead of relying on the app to try to figure out which face I want it to work with…

SOLUTION: Realized the face I was trying to extrude the point from was a triangle and not a quad. Once I set it up as a quad it worked. Still kind of a bummer as I need that face to be a triangle, so once I extruded it I had to change the geometry back again…
