ZBrushers Who Do 2D Animation Help Questions?

How does backgrouds that are not frame size work in a 2d animation software? For track shots, pan shoots and zooming in our out.

For a HD file size would need to be (or is it just pixel base for size? And what res for HD film quality, again is it just pixel base for size - is see that some are up to 2k and 4k in res but working with non film import what would the best res be (or does it not matter)?

What bit should be for the image file 8bit, 16bit, 24bit or bit size? or does that not matter.

Here’s what I would like to do:
Create a voice track (or segments of voice tracks) and sound track in a DAW software program such as Sonar 8.5
Once the voice tracks or a segment of the voice track is done bring it into a 2d type animation software so that it can be used to time the voices and/or sound effects.
PAUSE HERE - I think most of the backgrounds would be done in a graphics program or Zbrush so the 2d animation software would need to import files from other programs.I am thinking of using Zbrush’s PaintStop plugin to sketch out the characters and sinking the voices - sense it has two layers (all most like using an onion skin layer)

What would be good 2d software match for this?
Freeware
Medium Priced
Hi-End Priced

Please feel free to comment on how to put this together with software programs.

Hey SpaceMan sorry for not answering your Specs question in the other (Audio) thread. I simply missed it. After reading this one i can promise you, you won’t have any problems at all with this project. When i was referring to extensive Multitracking or using lots of FX, i was thinking about something like 32 Tracks with 3 or 4 FX for each tracks.

Concerning this thread, not that i have done anything like this, but i have done similar stuff in a couple of projects with After Effects The new (CS4) 2D Animation Tools within After Effects might not be the best in the world but they do their job just fine. It definitely depends on the look that you are going for.

Hope that helps.

Thanks
“i was thinking about something like 32 Tracks with 3 or 4 FX for each tracks” this would be more like having one track for each intrument in an orachtera before mixing down - the 2.66 should be what (have i7 920) i7 ?

I have been doing various google searches after effects cs4 animaton tools and have not found and web - video - or images. Can you post a screen shot of them.

And if you know some cool links about using photoshop cs4 entended and affter effects cs4 for classical 2d type film animations please post (or pm me)
I wouldn’t be asking for help except that Adobe Perimere Production cs4 suite is very high price for me an investment that I would like to make sure that I’ll have the tools I’ll need.

I have been looking at Digicel FilpBook - know anything about this program and does photoshop cs4 extended have these type of tools - here’s an image.

Any help or comments would help.

Question using a graphic image

Thinking some more about what you said about running 32 tracks with 3 or 4 fxs on each track would I need more than this for 20plus tracks like in the video.
Intel Core i7-920 processor (8MB L3 Cache 2.66GHz) Integrated 7.1 Channel Audio

BTW which makes the sound of a better violin?

Here’s a screen shot of TVP Animation (and said Digicell Filpbook was good also) recommended by a Disney animator but says that Disney is using ToonBoom Harmony(says they hand draw and scan in and ToonBoom Harmony is use to ink and paint through a network of other stations. To me the interfaces say (Filpbook) come and play and have fun (TVP Animation) you need a degree in engineering:D;)
