ZbrushCore Startup File

Hi, I recently acquire the ZBC bundle and I’d like to know if I can make my own startup file. I wonder if it is the file named as “Master” in ZData->ZLang.

I also want to know if I can solo the 3D View, I have a 13" laptop screen :frowning: and it feels pretty tight.

Thank you!

Never change the contents of the ZData folder unless you want to bork your ZBrush installation. :stuck_out_tongue: That folder contains the resources that ZBrushCore is programmed to expect – things it relies on in order to function.

ZBrushCore does not support the Startup Document feature due to the fact that its canvas size is automatically determined by your display settings. You can modify your UI but that’s totally different from the Startup Document feature.

There are alternate UI layouts included with ZBrushCore. Look to the upper right corner of your screen where you’ll see two icons that let you move back and forth between the various layouts. One of them is a minimal layout that hides everything except the palette names.

Hey, thank you Aurick. I’ll look for that Layout. Although another reason I was looking to change the Start up file, was to start up with a different matcap. Is there anyway to change this up?

I wanted to change my startup defaults too. I am using a cintiq with a laptop, and when I open zbrushcore it opens on my small laptop screen and then when I drag it over to the cintiq the canvas is very small since the cintiq is a bigger screen. How do I fix this? Thanks.

HeavyBlazeNight,

The startup file for ZBrushCore is the DynaMesh_Sphere_128.zpr in the ZProjects folder. If you change the MatCap and then resave the file you will get that MatCap when next you start ZBrushCore.

Jacktion,

I don’t have a dual monitor setup but I think you need to store the configuration (press Shift+Ctrl+i on the keyboard) after moving ZBrushCore to your cintiq.

Thanks! I tried saving the configuration and it brought up a dialogue box that it was being saved but it did not fix the issue. When restarting Zbrushcore it always starts on the small laptop monitor. Then when I move it to the large Cintiq the canvas is very small. How do I fix this? Where is the canvas resize controller?

Thanks.

If you maximize the ZBrushCore window and then re-load the project the canvas will automatically be re-sized to fit the window. You do need to re-load the project, or load a new project.

Oh! It worked. Thanks.

The “Revert” button in the File menu is a quick way to reload the current project, though note that any unsaved changes will be lost.
