ZBrush Window Always on Top?

Hello,

I’m having a bit of trouble keeping ZBrush 4r5 from always being on top of every other window. I’ve resized ZBrush so that I can still see my taskbar, but whenever I click on another window it doesn’t show up. ALT+TAB doesn’t work either, ZBrush is still the only window that shows. I have to minimize ZBrush every time I want to switch to a different window. It’s not that big of a deal, just an annoyance.

So is there a way to stop ZBrush from always being the top window?

The version of ZBrush is 4.5 and I’m running Window 7.

Thank you!

Hey, it’s worse in Windows 8. I find that most of the time if I minimize ZB I have to bring up the Windows Task Manager in order to get it to show again. Talk about annoying!

I work with a 2 monitor set up. If I click anywhere in the second monitors desktop then the Windows task bar shows and I can easily get to my browser or what ever other app I have running.

If you minimize in W8 you can just alt+tab back to it, even though it it doesn’t appear on the taskbar. Or if you use the program a lot you can just pin it to the taskbar and it will behave like normal.

Ah, thanks. Better. Will this work for the OP too in some way?

Probably not. I run into it with W7 at work occasionally, and it’s always much much more of a hassle (especially when you need to do something like zapplink to photoshop, but you can’t switch to PS in order to continue working nor can you minimize zbrush because of the state it’s in ).

Hey guys, thanks for the responses!

Apparently restarting the program several times eventually got it to alt-tab correctly and not always be on top of all the other windows. Though it’s still a minor tick that I have to resize the ZBrush window so that my taskbar still shows, the problem seems to have fixed itself.
