Photoshop has some capability to produce 3d effects, using bump maps, normal maps, extrusion, etc. But these 3d capabilities are pretty limited. Still, in some instances, these capabilities can be integrated into traditional PS images to produce a more compelling dimensionality. I was wondering if it is possible to that kind of work but better using ZBrush.
In PS, for example, an image might include a rock formation. It is sometimes possible to produce a more realistic and dramatic dimensionality by using PS’s 3d capabilities to enhance that rock formation, then rasterize the 3d layer and integrate it back into the layer stack. But, again, PS’s capabilities are pretty limited. Could that type of thing be done using ZBrush? Perhaps, export that rock formation into ZBrush, work on it, then import it back into PS?
