OK so i just started using Zbrush 3.1 and being a graphic designer i have a few grey areas i need i fill in.
My main problem is understanding the workspace. My best example is pixel area. At standard size from memory its about 980x700 or thereabouts. Now i starting doing the Octopus tutorial from the workshop and well im having pixel issues where the res looks blocky when i Zoom in.
So i decided to double the workspace to somewhere along the lines of 1920x1440 more closer to my screen res. It seems to be abit better but once again zooming in makes the artwork look pixelated.
So in saying that what sort of res should i be working in to get somewhat half decent zooming option where i can really home in and add some finer detail in?
In used to working in Photoshop at 300dpi not 72dpi and i guess im trying to come to the terms that Zbrush like other 3D app is not printing resolution (so you can see my mind set delema from screen res to print res). So i guess what you see is what you get on the screen or pixel area selected.
So in saying that would i be better in working say 4000x3000 or so pixels or more? I’d like to know what the guys in the workshop use because it seems when they zoom in their res looks really nice and not pixelated.
I guess i just want a few tips or a bit of an understabnding on the Zbrush workarea and where does it end up when i try to make my final image in say Photoshop.
Thanks guys hope i explained it in a way that makes sense.
