Hello, everyone! We know that quite a few people have been inquiring about training DVD’s for ZBrush, so wanted to let you know about this new one from digital-tutors. It contains 3.5 hours of training, covering a LOT of ground. Click here for more info.
this is something i desperately need. hope it stays available for a long time. might be a while before i can get around to buying.
I’ve had the disatisfaction of viewing anumber of the products offered by D-t.com, tutorials for maya. I have not found them to be a worthwhile purchase and investment of my time . The presentations are dull to say the least and cover Manual and free tutorial material in the same way it is presented, no easier to understand or digest into ones own workflow. After reviewing superfically the contents of this DVD, my view remains thesame.
Buy another stick of Ram to help your work with highpoly models instead, much more beneficial.
Kircho
The training is very basic. Not for intermediate or advanced users.
Good for early beginner newbies.
I have to agree with Kircho. Even as a basic beginner DVD, it just covers the basics that come with Zbrush. And if you actually sifted through all the great posts on the forum you would get a lot more information for free. I also had little compassion for the quality of DVDs provided for the money from these people. This kind of thing could really hurt Zbrush as newbies get a bitter taste. I think the built in tutorial approach is far more useful, I use the record script function in a studio environment so that we can share how things are done - especially after a project is over or after some one leaves for greaner pastures.
Note: These are my opinions and observations and everyone is entitled to scream until they are hoarse.
As a new user, I have to disagree a bit. I just bought the ZBrush Training from Digital-Tutors and I think it’s well worth the money. For someone who has little time to read through the literature and search for tutorials, I think the exercises you complete give you fundamental knowledge of the program in an enjoyable way. Like it says, it’s ZBrush Basics…and I am a new user. They mentioned more training coming soon for other levels of experience. The customer service I received there was great and they know how to take care of their customers.
I’m sold…2 Thumbs up for me!
First of all, just to be clear . . . for those of us without DVD drives, the DT ZBrush Basics is CD-ROM, not DVD. Also, there is a new ZBrush 2-disc DVD-ROM set to be released by The Gnomon Workshop on December 15th:

The Gnomon Workshop Training CD’s and DVD’s
look a lot more solid than the digital-tutors one.
I am looking forward to checking them out!
If you’re new to Zbrush then the digital tutors disc with get you up to speed quite quickly. It is quite basic but the important stuff is there. You could probably find most of the information on the forums, but if you prefer video tutorials to reading then I would recomend this CD. It’s clearly explained and easy to follow. If you know Zbrush quite well the theres not a lot here for you, wait for the next disc.
It’s here!!!
The first one is 100% ZBrush!!!
