zbrush to SketchUp

A friend of mine asked me to do something for SketckUp. This fine app can handle just a few polys. So this came out. Blender (basic model, topology) > zbrush (1 300 000 polys, scalpture and details) > blender (300 000 polys, baked) export as 3ds to sketch up (30 000 polys)> rendered with a simple renderer (podium)
But the real time preview animation in SU (with shadows on) is fantastic almost like this here.
So, Abu Simbel using 30 000 polys. I think i’ll reduce it to 10000.

Wow…really beautiful piece!

Nice links here solidsnake, thanks for your kind words.

I love sketchup. Can I see the sketchup render?

Thanks prosthesis. But you are looking at sketchup render + podium. Here is a SU raw export.

Very nice sculpt. That’s a lot of poly’s for SU

Beautiful work. could you show a wireframe?

Here’s one. Have in mind that 2000 polys > 4000 (triangles) > 8000 (double sided). These are the bad news about sketchup.
Well prosthesis, not so many polys. You have almost real time animation in SU. Go to SCF, find an attachment egypttest.mov, exported in 2min from su

Maybe blender exports a very clean .3ds (if your textures have names less than eight letters)

Works a treat…good job!!!

just playing with zbrush and this simple composition came out. Trying again to export an ultra low polys baked model to SketchUp. These guys there (SCF) loved it but here’s a much more competitive forum. Just some PP with gimp (added sea birds).
Its a greek autumn sea.

Nice!

Thanks fracture. Your links here are an inspiration to me.

Here are some more. Quick modeling (20 min), Basic box model + UVs + baking in blender.

oh my, the birds have no reflection :open_mouth:
Vampires.

Go to the sea sometimes. As a freeminded person, you should watch more carefully.
