Zbrush to NX (Siemens)

I am producing sculpts that need to be sent as STLs to the customer using NX from Siemens. We have problems preserving fine details in the process. The geometry gets distorted and ragged. Does anyone know of a good workflow for this process? distortion

Thanks in advance!!!

Hello @Ozalynda!

I’m not sure what I’m looking at here. Not a wireframe, but some sort of external render? I can’t speak to the display properties in your other application. Why is only some of the wireframe showing–has the geometry become un-welded?

Generally though, with print work you would use Decimation Master to reduce the poly count down to a manageable level while still retaining most of your detail. STLs can be exported directly from Zbrush with the 3d Print Hub.

Hi, just saw your answer. This is a rendering view of the static that occurs when the Zbrush .stl is opened in NX. This is a very closeup of a wrinkle in a lip  . The final product is a lifesized manikken.
I am using 3D Print hub to produce the .stl that I export. We don’t want any loss of detail and polycount is not really an issue.
