Hi there, i hope i’m posting in the right place. So here’s my question , I notice that while you work in Zbrush it takes a noticeable amount of space on the hard drive. I’ve just installed a clean copy of windows and after working in Zbrush i think the space it takes isn’t released after the session . Is that normal ? Can i delete any temporary data or something that Zbrush generates after i finish working ? Thanks
Mac or PC? Some of the bits within ZBrush save some data…if you save a project file with undo history, it can become quite large. HTH
PC.And i save my tools or whatever on a different partition not on the one with the windows on it.That’s the one i’m talking about , I mean its normal for the program to use a swap memory or something but after i finnish working with ZBrush , it should clear it.
LE: Solved. Problem , quicksave files as ZPR 200mb each can add up quite much. I deleted those since i have my work saved , so far :).
In Preferences you can set how many of those files to save and the duration between saves. Sometimes auto-save can happen at a bad moment.
Now you can set up a custom path for your VMem. May be if you change your VMem location to a bigger partition could help. It is located in:
Pc/C:/Users/Public/Public Documents/ZBrushData > ZBrushScratchDiskPath.txt
Yes i will do that next time i open up Zbrush :).
@4Z4R , yea but the Vmem is only temporary so right now i don’t need to change it.I was only concerned with the memory that keeps taking up space after i close ZBrush. But good to know in case of future problems , i simply don’t have the heart to format my other partition in order to shift some memory to the windows one , so on this old baby i have to manage with 50GB only xD.
