"Zbrush Sword" in NOV05 gamedeveloper mag

Just got my copy of the game developer magazine today, just interesting how in page 5, an article about Avid’s XSI 5 features an image of the famous “zbrush sword” (from the intro scene) as a model in that program.

it’s a good thing…means that all the big dogs are working hard to work with zbrush and not the other way around. (edit…this does not mean that zbrush isn’t busting butt to make their product work well for people in their chosen apps…just that it’s about time they worked just as hard to make their apps work with Zbrush:rolleyes:)

All is right with the world!

Ive also seen a modeling prog (cant remember wich, modo, blender or something else), they swon in there gallery a creature sculpted in zbrush…

Maybe the base mesh was done with tere prog, but its not fair to show final high res model sculpted in zbrush with millions poly and CAVITY SHADER!

Its like if I was doing a low res head in max, then sculpt it to millions poly in zb, and use it a max gallery…

Yeah I have to agree with Sebcesoir. It’s getting into areas like misrepresentation in my oppinion. By this logic if someone here makes a cube and I import it into Zbrush and make a highly dense poly head from it, that would make the head the work of the person who gave me the cube.

I’ve seen the XSI advert your on about and it struck me as some very clever marketing, it does try to give the impression that it was created in XSI. If they ‘meant’ it to say that you could render displacement maps they should have made this clear and quoted Zbrush as the creation program
