Zbrush resizing my screen

When I launch zbrush, it shrinks my screen size on my monitor, but not the resolution. I cannot for the life of me understand why it does this.

If I change the resolution to anything but 1080 it refits to the edge of the monitor correctly, but if I go back to 1080 I’ll be stuck with this 1 inch border on ALL sides.

It will stay like this no matter what I do, play a game, watch a movie. And the text is hard to read as it’s kinda smooshed.

The only way to fix it (that I know of) is to restart. But that’s very inconvenient.

Is this a problem with my monitor or the program. Or what.

Please follow forum guidelines and post specs when asking these sort of questions. Version of ZB? OS? Graphic card? Are your display drivers up to date? A screen shot of what’s happening wouldn’t hurt either.

If you mean that the size of the ZBrush window is smaller than your display resolution, simply delete the Zbrush3\ZStartup\ConfigFiles\ZBrushWindowStartupSize.cfg file.

My version is 3.1
My graphics card is a Radeon 4850
Windows XP.

And I can’t post a screen shot. It’s my monitor. When I load up zbrush (sometimes). My monitors screen will actually shrink and there will be a border about inch on all sides of the screen. My resolution is still 1080, but now instead of being displayed on a 23 inch screen it now looks like its being displayed on a 21. I guess the easiest way to explain this is that, Imagine that when you load zbrush, what you are seeing on your monitor shrink an inch on each side. Leaving a black border between the edge of your screen and whats being displayed. Now this doesn’t go away unless I restart, or change to a different resolution.

And aurick, i think you answered a question I had about how I could increase my document size for my new resolution and keep it that big.

Even though it’s happening with ZBrush, I can assure you that it is NOT ZBrush that’s doing it. There’s something significantly wrong with your system itself. The most likely possibilities that I can think of are your display driver or possibly faulty RAM.
