ZBrush randomly breaks UVS on obj export

ZBrush has done this for years. This is with groups ‘off’ all settings correct in ZBrush.

In one example I import a simple object with perfect UVS, moved the object, used the move tool to nudge a bit. No subdivs added. Export GRP off back to an object.

In Maya, parts of the object have broken UVS, all unwelded, and welding them together does not work but breaks the UVs. Forcing me to hunt for an old version, and choose to move that object and nudge in Maya instead of ZBrush.

Please fix thanks…

Side note - please provide a feedback area that is easier to find? I have been collecting ZBrush bugs in a document while working on characters for game production, but have nowhere to report all the small random bugs in ZBrush except this forum? Thx-

Hi @Regnan

Hey @Regnan

Not sure if this will help, but I have had similar issues exporting OBJ files back and forth between Zbrush and Maya. I found there is second option for exporting OBJ files called “OBJ Extended” in the Save as type options when you try to export. It pops up an new UI that has some more options for OBJ files. This option seemed to fix my issues I was having with UDIMs. You will still need to export with sub groups turned off or it will split up your ploygroups into separate meshes which is always a pain to deal with.

Hopefully it can work,
