As i said on the title, i try to make the mask to alpha, but its empty.

And if its empty then when i try to export to PSD, its BLACK:(. someone Knows what could be happening…

I uploaded a video to youtube, with the problem to make it easier for future helpers.

thanks in advance.

Your video doesn’t work.

I am assuming your mesh doesn’t have UVs which is why you can’t generate a map.
I could be wrong but without any more information I can’t say for sure.

i clicked the link, and my video worked, and already an user from here helped me, he told me the problem is with the r2 version it needs an update.

Hmm…must have been the computer I was on. Works now…stupid public computers. Anyway, glad you got it sorted.

I heard from Marcus_Civis that setting Preferences/Performance/PreLoad File Size to the maximum before importing large alphas solves this problem. It worked for me.

R

the problem is that i cant even export alpha, how can i import it back /edited? i want to make a good alpha first based on the first one i had.

The create alpha from mask function doesn’t work in ZBrush 4R2 and will need to be fixed in an update.

You can create an alpha from a mask without this function working inside of Zbrush though.

fill your mesh with pure black (0,0,0), then mask off the area you want and invert it. Fill this area with pure white (255,255,255). Create a new texture from polypaint and export out this image. This should give you the same effect, just a couple more button presses.

really great idea:) so then i hope import alpha works perfect XD

importing an alpha works fine. To use it as a mask you’ll have to mask by intensity.
