ZBrush macOS on ARM

Hi @PixoPaul and my other Pixo-heroes,

I’m curious to know if ZBrush for macOS will be adjusted to optimally perform on the new ARM macs, as ZBrush relies heavily on CPU power, and was written for Intel CPUs.

I can imagine that running ZBrush in ARM emulation mode will cause some speed-decreasing overhead.

I’m currently working with a Windows PC, but I’ve worked with ZBrush for macOS in the past, and might some day decide to return to a Mac, so I’d love to read about the future of ZBrush for macOS.

Thanks!

Hello @MetinSeven

Questions regarding the hardware support for ZBrush should be directed to Pixologic Support.

These are the Zbrush community forums, where other users like yourself discuss Zbrush usage questions.

Ah yes, I should have thought of that, sorry. I’ve decided not to bother Pixo Support about this. I guess I was asking for something obvious, as Pixologic will surely not disadvantage macOS users.

Hey @MetinSeven I have the same query, did you get any info on potential arm based zbrush?

Thanks

Hi Petar,

I haven’t submitted a ticket, because I figured the answer is obvious: Pixologic will not leave ZBrush users out in the cold.

I expect ZBrush to run in the Intel compatibility mode. Then, hopefully, ARM optimizations will follow.
