Zbrush Macbook Pro Retina Questions

I there, first time poster. I have been working with zbrush for about a year now, and I have been doing sculpts for my portfolio on my own time and I have been running into an issue with polygon count. I want to sculpt with a fairly large polygon count to get the maximum amount on detail possible in my sculpts for 3D printing for clients. but lately for some reason I cannot seem to sculpt past the 400k mark when sculpting and I have to sculpt in a lower resolution to see the work that I am doing. I use a MacBook Pro Retina that I got 2 years ago so it’s a late 2014. I was using a cheap tablet and then I upgraded to using an Ugee HK1560 (Cheap Cintiq knockoff). I want to trouble shoot his so I can sculpt at a higher resolution with no lag.

Is there anyone with issues similar to this that they were about to fix?

Is there a setting on Zbrush that I need to change or modify?

Is there a setting I need to fix or something on my MacBook pro?

Any suggestions I am all ears.

Thanks!
