zbrush freezes when when trying to Unwrap mesh to create UVs

Hey whats up guys, I don’t know whats going on but heres my situation. I have my mesh which is a creature and its only 200,000 polys and when I go to Zplugin- UV master and click unwrap it tries to start the Unwrap . WHen I say that I mean the lil orange progress bar starts and goes not even an inch and then Zbrush just stalls or freezes and I have to restart the program. if anyone know what might be causing this let me know cause I have to get this assignment finished.

For starters; Do you have the most up to date version of ZBrush? You should be using 4R6 P2.

Oh no I do not, I am installing it right now I will let you know if that changes anything as soon as I can. Thanks

alright I have updated to 4r6 p2 and it is still doing the same thing. So if you have any suggestions let me know. Thanks

Try a lower subdivision level or decimate/ZRemesh.

thats what I have tried, and still nothing. I didnt have issues with this the other day so I don’t know what I am doing differently to cause it to do this. I even tried unwrapping a simple hand model and got an error message .

Max recommended is 150K, so that’s part of the problem. Are you using polygroups?

k, Ill decimate it down and see if that works.

attached image of what it does. Teh bar goes that far and thats it. and then when I click anywhere on the screen the fades out to grey transparent. Im sure you know what I mean.

Answering my own question, but yeah think the mesh just had too many polys cus I just decimated way down to 50,000 and it works now. I need to buy more RAM

Hi, I think too that 200000poly for unwrapping is maybe to much.
ps: Instead of using decimation master -wich is a great tool btw-,
I would suggest you to try to use zremesher. I think it gives you lot of control for
amazing efficient results (you can choose by advance, a target number of polygones, etc).
Then, you can have a low poly base that can be unwrapped without any problem into uvmaster.
