Zbrush for non-artist/programmer?

Greetings.

i am looking for some advice since I read about zbrush core, I am considering to buy.

First of all I’m not an artist, I barely know how to draw (at least I can copy other drawings/photos with 60%-70% accuracy).
i am a computer science student, more into programming, but before enrolling in university I wanted to learn to make games, I broke the interface barrier for unity and unreal. Also a friend has zbrush 4r7 (i think it was called that haha) and got to somehow break the interface barrier (at least I can put some zspheres together and make something odd looking).

Now, i think if I take a couple months I can learn to make 2D sprites, but being the perfectionist I am (well also I love 3D art) I want to try to make 3D assets (nothing ambitious, decently-looking but low poly), I learned to use blender, but the whole vertex-drawing and extruding n times to create something got a bit boring (although I think has to be done for retopology after zbrush for making game assets).

My question or the advice(s) I am looking for is(are):
wold you people recommend to buy zbrush core for making game asset/use by programmer?
is the production pipeline complicated?
finally, what would be a good advice on how to get started/start practicing (like I want to make a human character, I know best way to get better is to just keep doing stuff, was thinking to start making basic anime characters to begin or “chibi” ones to not get too overwhelmed by the whole practice)
