ZBrush Executable has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the

I just purchased Zbrush for my home computer and encounter this message ZBrush Executable has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. I have not been able to open the application even one time. I run Windows XP with service pack 2, 2 gigs of ram, top of the line graphics card. I also run poser, Vue, and Daz with no problems. Any suggestions i could try to get this working?

Thanks

The first thing to do is to browse to the ZBrush 3 folder and locate the TroubleshootHelp subfolder. Within that, run the vcredist_x86 program. This installs the Microsoft C++ components that ZBrush requires.

If you still have issues, please contact http://support.pixologic.com

I have this exact same problem. I have window vista 32 & just ran that vcredist_x86 program and it didn’t help. I also submitted a ticket but i haven’t got any reply back yet. how long does it usually take for support to contact me back?

I really need to use zbrush soon…

please help

thanks

I had to uninstall Zbrush, however you can’t just uninstall it from the add/remove programs in the control Panel. After uninstalling, you actually have to go to your C drive to Program Files and remove the ZBrush folder completely. Do a fresh install. You won’t get the message anymore, but you will have to call the support line to get a new license key. Mine works fine now.
