Zbrush doesn't record the animation

Hello!
Zbrush doesn’t want to record a simple camera animation for some reasons. Shift+click preview works well but when I try to record a video with Shift+Ctrl+click, Zbrush asks me to save the file and then nothing happens. It’s stuck after the zero frame. Does anybody know what’s wrong?

Thanks in advance!

I’ve no idea why that should be happening. You shouldn’t get a Save dialog as the animation is recorded directly to a ZBrush movie, which you have the option of saving later. You could try saving out the TimeLine and reloading. Save the project also, and try reloading that after restarting ZBrush.

Thanks for the reply, Marcus.
Yes, Save dialog should work with the Save button when the animation is recorded. But I get it with Ctrl+Shift+Click. I tried to open the scene in 64 and 32 bit versions of Zbrush and even tried to make a new simple scene with another animation - the same problem. ((
Have to render each frame separately and combine them in AE, that’s stupid ((

Try this little plugin. It will simply record a ZBrush movie from the TimeLine.

To install:

  1. Unzip the file to your Desktop.
  2. Open any folder created by the unzipping and locate the TimeLineRecord.zsc file.
  3. Copy the TimeLineRecord.zsc file to your ZBrush 4R7\ZStartup\ZPlugs64 folder.
  4. Restart ZBrush.

You’ll have a new sub-palette called TimeLine Record at the bottom of the Movie palette. This has a button called “Record TimeLine”. Press this to record the TimeLine as a ZBrush movie.

Thanks again! Yes, that works but only in a preview mode. Can’t make a BPR rendering. =(

Duh! Yes, forgot about that. I’ve updated it. Try the new version.

Oh man, thank you veeeery much! You’ve helped me a lot! :+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:
