I am having an incredibly frustrating problem with some SVG’s. I have been using AI to create some text and images and have had no problems importing them up until this point. I try to import the last SVG for the design and it immediately crashes ZBrush, no error, no clue as to what is going on, just hit open and it crashes. I am just confused as I have not done anything different with this SVG than I have with any else. Has anybody had an issue like this? Also is there a support line I can talk to about this issue?
Hi,
based on the Zbrush documentation about SVG files: The only constraint is that the SVG file needs to contain closed shapes with no open curves.
http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/zbrush-plugins/text-3d-vector-shapes/svg-files/
Did you check if you have open curves in your SVG file?
(It’s only an idea, what it could bee, I don’t have any experience with SVG usage in Zbrush).
If it’s not the case then maybe you could upload a SVG file which makes this trouble.
Then someone else could check if it works or not with her/his Zbrush installation.

Hi @Ingotbo11
@HarryBee is correct. ( Thanks Harry! ) Since you haven’t had a problem until now, and it appears linked to this specific file, I would suspect an issue with it, and not with your installation.
You can create a Ticket for an issue via the Pixologic Support system, subject to their hours of operation. I would do a little more experimentation on your end first, since it seems to be an issue related to your file.
In the event you ever need to make a Support ticket, be sure to be upgraded to the most up to date version of Zbrush before reporting issues. This is free for registered users, and obsolete versions are not officially supported.
Thanks to all who responded! I did a lot more digging and found out the issue was that I didn’t convert my text to an outline in AI before export. Simple fix but frustrating none the less and seems to only apply if you are working with text based SVG’s. So if anybody else in the future has this issue, convert the text to outline so that all the letters are individual shapes.
