Zbrush crash issue after posing with zspheres.

Hello and thanks for checking out my post.

First off I must state that I am a Zbrush noob and coming from a background in Maya and some 3Ds max, im still getting the hang of the terminology / interface and such.

So as for my issue: I have been tasked with posing and rendering out a dragon model. I have used the Transpose Master Zsphere method to do this. However when I use TPose>SubT to further work with my posed model I can’t raise the subdivisions back up without Zbrush crashing on me.

The model has 8 subtools, however the one that seems to be causing the problem is the body which is the vast majority of the model. The other subtools are simply the small areas such as the teeth, horns, eyes and such.

As for process I am loading my tool of the dragon > using transpose master with “zsphere rig” highlighted, then hitting “Tpose Mesh” to build a zsphere rig > Then Rigging > “Bind Mesh” > Then posing the model > Then “TPose>SubT”. This will leave me with my subtools at the lowest division levels. When I try to bring the body back up to its highest level (6) I will get the spinning windows cursor indefinitely. When i switch to any other app it will say “Zbrush Executable is not responding” and crash.

This seems strange as I have more than enough ram and have tried setting my allocated ram up all the way in the Zbrush preferences menu. My system can easily show a preview of the subtools at their highest sdiv levels but after posing and using Tpose>SubT its a no go. Any clue as to what could be going on here?

As for specs, I have a very powerful PC in general. No Quadro card, but a Titan Black. CPU is a i7-4930K (6 cores), and I have 32 GB of RAM on a Windows 7 64 Bit system. Should be good right.

Also, not that i think it would help any but I cant show any screenshots of the model open in zbrush because of confidentiality issues.

Thank you so much for any input on this,
J
