zBrush crash and mac os 10.4.5

Hi All,

I am considering switching my zBrush license from win XP to mac. I downloaded the demo for the mac, opened a head model that I began on win xp. It crashes every time I go into and out of projection master. I did get it to go in and out of projection master once. Sometimes it crashes when I drop the model, sometimes when I pick it up. It is a subdivision level 6 model with all of the lower levels still in place. It will just hang indefinitely. Could this be a graphics card issue? Is the program less stable on the mac? I used it on the PC only for a couple of weeks, but I can't remember crashing at all. Any feedback or help will be greatly appreciated;) my current mac config: mac quad 2.5 gb ram os 10.4.5

What level were you at when you saved the ZTL? Does the model have UV’s assigned?

Okay, I feel dumb.:rolleyes:

I guess it has been a while since I have worked on this model and I forgot how long I should wait between picking up and dropping. The model is just under 1 milliion polys with a 4k texture map. I need to be patient. On the mac quad it takes about 2 minutes to pick up. On the dual 2.8 xeon, about 5. zBrush wasn’t crashing, but just calculating. I just over-reacted to the apple “evil lollipop” (spinning cursor).
