Zbrush core mini crashes when saving

3rd time in a row now, zbrush crashes, when I try to save the project. A little disappointing! Trying it on Windows 10, but with this bug absolutely a waste of time. Is there an easy solution to this?

Hello @next_level_anything

Sorry you’re having some trouble! :slightly_frowning_face:

Without knowing anything at all about the situation or file that is causing the crashes, I can only direct you to report repeatable crashes to Pixologic Support.

Good luck!

Ok, I downloaded and ran the diagnostic program to find the problems. I quit the diagnostic program after one hour of running. There seem to be major problems with your programs, sorry to say, but I am not convinced by your product.

Out of curiosity, what “diagnostic program” did you download and run, and what “major problems” was it reporting, or what major problems were you finding? While this is a community forum, people here will try to help, but a bit more information would help people help you better.
How much free space do you have on your drive? How much RAM do you have in your system? If you start a new project and try to save that, is it still crashing? What file type are you saving as? Are you saving on a SSD or a mechanical hard drive?
In regards to “not being convinced by your product”, ZBrush is industry standard over a number of fields, and it’s creators have won an Oscar for it, and I’m sure many other awareds too. While ZBrush Core Mini is heavily cut down compared to the full verion of ZBrush, remember it is designed as an introduction, for people to learn a little. It is a brilliant starting point to learn digital sculpting.

Hi sbmongoose,

thanks for your answer.

I ran " ZBrushCoreMini Diagnostic Download" which ran for more than one hour without any progress or result. I run the programm on a hard drive with 700+ GB free space, Windows 10 all updates installed, 16GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB.
The program crashes once I click on “save project”.

Don’t get me wrong, zbrush looks very promising, that’s why I am so disappointed it crashes.

I’m sorry, I’m not familiar with “ZBrushCoreMini Diagnostic Download”, and have not been able to find it on Pixologic’s support site, so hopefully someone else here may have experience with that.

However it looks as though Pixologic have released an update that fixes an issue with it opening with older processors…

Hopefully that may fix the issue you are having?
Otherwise I’d contact Pixologic support so they can look into this further for you.

Thank you, I will try that! :+1:

What flavor of Windows 10, is it Pro?
