ZBrush Challenge -- Puns!

Well, a few of you asked for it, so here it is: a ZBrush challenge based on that underappreciated form of witticism, The Pun. Above is the first of two images that I’m going to do with this theme, just to get you into the spirit (the groaning kind is acceptable). I challenge any and all ZBCentral members to fill up this thread with your own punny illustrations.

A few rules:
:red_circle: Each image must illustrate a pun.
:red_circle: Do not illustrate the “unpunned” message or saying. For example, if the pun was “Tequila Mockingbird” your illustration would not be of “To Kill a Mockingbird”.
:red_circle: Do not tell what the pun is. Let the viewers try and figure it out (which is going to be part of the fun of the thread – to see who can be the first to guess each one). Feel free to guess other people’s, but do not reveal your own.
:red_circle: Have Fun!

Cool Aurick, Great idea and a great image too. You sure can “rock and roll” with your ZBrush.

 Thanks, Zoid. Although it’s looking like this may not be a very popular thread.

Good guess on the riddle/pun, by the way. It’s wrong, but still a very good guess.

“Thanks, Zoid. Although it’s looking like this may not be a very popular thread.”

Be patient Aurick, you only posted this yesterday.

I already have a pun that I did in my sketch book a couple of months ago. I still have to do it over in ZBrush however.

“Roll with the punches” :qu:

Glazed overlook :qu:

bun :qu:

heh heh. Good guesses, all. One of you is close, but didn’t take it far enough. A hint: most of the elements in the foreground are important. The background is just there to flesh the scene out.

hey, Mat! this one’s too easy. here;

Frog in a bank

A frog goes into a bank, and hops up to the loan officer.
The loan officer says, “My name is John Paddywack. Can I help you?”
The frog says, “Yeah, I’d like to borrow some money.”
The loan officer finds this a little odd, but gets out a form. He says, “Okay, what’s your name?”
The frog says, “Kermit Jagger.”
The loan officer says, “Really? Any relation to Mick Jagger?”
The frog says, “Yeah, he’s my dad.”
The loan officer says, “Okay. Ummm…do you have any collateral?”
The frog hands the loan officer a pink ceramic elephant and says, “Will this do?”
The loan officer says, “Hmmm…I’m not sure. Let me go check with the bank manager.”
The frog says, “Oh, tell him I said hi. He knows me.”
The loan officer goes back to the manager and says, “Excuse me, but there’s this frog out there named Kermit Jagger who wants to borrow some money. All he has for collateral is this pink elephant thing, I’m not ever sure what it is.”
The manager says, “It’s a knick-knack, Paddywack. Give the frog a loan. His old man’s a Rolling Stone.”

Great thread idea, Aurick!

I think I got it:

“A glazed cinnamon roll is the lowest form of comedy”

What do I win?
dave

next one: roll-er-plates? rollerblades?

Well, since Davey pretty much got it (awesome job!), here’s the actual pun: “The bun is the lowest form of humor.”

I’m glad that you’ve had fun with this first one. A new creation is on the way for tonight or tomorrow. And I know of at least one other artist planning to contribute to the thread. So keep checking back for more pun… I mean, fun.

PS: Christos, elaborate stories like that which set up a really bad pun are always so much fun. You just quoted one of my favorites.

yeah, know what you mean; the aesthetics of kitsch

I’m glad you’re doing this forum, it’s going to be some fun.
I won’t participate, as kitsch comedy is not something I can come up with, but again it’s cool to watch.

your image, by the way -and sorry to have forgotten to comment on it- is especially natural. the steam wafting from the bun is so subtle and real, as is the wood and the background grass. you’re getting GOOD at this

I stink at guessing 'em, but I LOVE finding out what they are!!!

Please!!! All of you “punsters” out there, contribute! It doesn’t matter what it looks like, the Pun is the thing!!!

ROFLMAO…Bun…lowest form of humor…hoo haah! More! More! More!!!
