Hi. I created a folder with Alphas in ZAlphas inside Zbrush. Im using LightBox to navigate to this folder.
Problem is that all new Alphas in new folder are importing as Textures. I cant use them as Alpha via LightBox. What im missing?
Hi @Ustos
They have to be 8 or 16 bit (preferably 16 bit) grayscale images in either .PNG or .PSD format. If they are going into the Texture slot, it means that they have color information and are not grayscale.
Hey @zber2 .
I checked - they all 16bit grayscale. I dowloaded from Artstation store as Aphas, but they still identifying as Textures inside Zbrush. =(
If im using Import - everything will be ok. But i need LightBox here.
Then they are probably .JPG format (which can still be grayscale). Like I said, they have to be either .PNG or .PSD format.
Convertio (free) does a good job of converting .JPG to .PSD.
@zber2 hmmm… i dont know why but Zbrush said that my Alpha is 32RGB after importing via LightBox.
I opened this Alpha in Photoshop and it was 16bit Grayscale .png…
?
Well, if you have Photoshop, and the mode is set to 16 bit grayscale then save it out of Photoshop as a .PSD file and try that in ZBrush. It should work.
