ZBrush 4R7 P2 update minor issue.

Good morning.

Just installed the P2 update to 4R7. Everything went fine with one minor issue. Every time I fire up Brush, either the 32Bit or 64Bit version on my Mac-Pro, I get this message:

ZScript Note: Interface item could not be found.

SCRIPT: FBX-ExportImport_4R7_02.txt

ERROR: ZPlugin:FBX ExportImport:Options:Import Mats as SubTools
IN: [IGetID,“ZPlugin:FBX ExportImport:Options:Import Mats as SubTools”]

Is this critical and how do I get rid of the error? All else seems to work fine.

Thanks
RonK

Missing or misplaced file. maybe you should email support…

How did you install the P2 update? Did you uninstall P1 first? Also, can you post a screenshot of the contents of the ZBrushOSX 4R7/ZStartup/ZPlugs64 folder in Finder?

Thanks,

Do we need to reinstall the Bridge to Keyshot with this update?

Nope!

Tank yoo…

Doug,

Thanks. I would never have thought of that on my own … but you know, sometimes with a new release, other users have the same issues and it can certainly assist support if they can get an answer out in one big blast. It also helps them to guage the scope of the problem:
One stupid user … or thousands of users!

Apparently I fall imto the “one stupid user” category.

Thanks for your input.

I believe this is the error I was getting as mentioned in this thread.
My installs were

  1. No unistall of ZB - just ran the P2 update.
This led to the above error. And also a very long start-up time, I have a SSD and ZB starts in a short time usually.
2.Then unistalled ZB and just reinstalled the P2 update - which led to the same issue.

Have tried to install via ZB update - this closed ZB for most of the day and I wasn’t sure if the update was successful.
(I’m assuming that upgrading this way takes a while as ZB download the entire package and installs ?)

Following the directions, I did not uninstall P1 nor did I deactivate the current install. The instruction seemed to indicate that wasn’t necessary when upgrading from the P1 patch.

I think I’ve uploaded a screen shot of the directory you requested. See the attache *.png file.

OK, that’s very useful.

For some reason updating has failed to remove earlier versions of some of the plugins. This is what is causing the problem you describe. Follow these instructions and ZBrush should work as expected:

  1. Make a copy of the entire ZPlugs64 folder to your Desktop. This is just to make sure that if you make a mistake you can restore it.
  2. Work through the ZPlugs64 folder and delete these four files:

FBX-ExportImport_4R7_01.zsc
ImagePlane_4R7_01.zsc
MultiMapExporter_4R7_01.zsc
TransposeMaster_4R7_01.zsc

Also delete these four folders and their contents:

FBXExportImportData_4R7_01
ImagePlaneData_4R7_01
MultiMapExporterData_4R7_01
TransposeMasterDater_4R7_01

  1. You’ll see that what you’ve done is delete files/folders ending in 4R7_01 where there is also a similar file or folder that ends in 4R7_02. The 02 versions are the new ones. Also check the ZStartup\ZPlugs folder, and if the same thing has happened there, with 4R7_01 and 4R7_02 versions of these four plugins, repeat the procedure for that folder also.

  2. Run ZBrush. When you’re happy that everything is as it should be you can delete the copies of ZPlugs64 and ZPlugs that you made to your Desktop.

Your solution worked perfectly. Thank you so much. The error warning is gone and everything appears normal.

Thanks again!!

RonK

That’s great, thanks for letting me know.

Thank you Mr. Marcus … removing those duplicate .zsc files resolved the FBX warning I was getting as well.

Marcus. Thanks also from me_ issues solved
