Zbrush 4R7 64bit performance problem on 20GB ram PC

Zbrush 4R7 64bit runs sluggishly on my PC when I have a mesh over 5 million polygons I see on the forums that most people can use array mesh and nanomesh with over 20 million polygons and have no performance issues. My PC has 20GB DDR3 ram a Geforce GTX680 an 8 Core 4GHZ AMD Cpu and a 150GB SSD but I get bad performance after my meshes go over 5 million polys. I have uploaded 2 images to show my settings in 4R7 64bit. It says that I only have 787mb active memory on this image I dont know how to increase this but I have over 17GB free memory can anyone help?

Try disabling superfetch if you are running Windows Vista or 7. Not sure about 8

I have no problems when working on 60 millions polygons as long as model have subdivisions.
When I delete lower subdivisions then performance drop drastically but it’s the way it’s work.

Your screen shot shows that your zbrush is using 787mb of RAM it’s nothing bad he just don’t neeed to use more when You work on actual model.
Your drop in performance can be caused by document size mainly option “Antialiased Half Size”
Can be caused because you use model with too many polygons as base mesh for your array.
Can be caused by poor performance of your processor. (zbrush use only CPU to render) your Geforce does not give any boost to Zbrush.
Your power plan in windows is set to “saver” try to switch it to “High performance” plan.

Hope that helps…

Hi thanks for the tips my cpu is an AMD FX-8350 8 core 4.0ghz which is a pretty decent processor
