Thank you again.

Desperately need help.

Machine Specs:

OS: Win7 64bit.
CPU: 2 Xeon CPU, 8 Cores.
RAM: 16 GB
Display Card: FX1800

they can not answer my questions. Please, please someone out there, please help me.

The question is? This has been covered before. Did you GoZ the cube to 3DS Max?

@Jones. Thanks for the reply. I could not find anything related to my problem on the forum.

I did not use goz. On the video, my main purpose of go back to 3dsmax is only to check the scale.

Generally, my workflow is just get thing done in Zbrush and export as .stl, then print.

My question is, how do I know know what scale I am working with in Zbrush? e.g if I want to work in cm, how can I set this correctly? As I often want to measure point A to point B distance to make sure things are in correct scale when they got printed.

Thank you again for your help.

Hi,

maybe the ZBrush plugin ‘3D Print exporter’ could be helpful.

BTW: I don’t have experience with this plugin, I had only a look in the ZBrush documentation.

CU

You have settings under Preferences:Transpose Units.

@Jones, I did check with goz, the scale back to 3dsmax is correct. But I am still having problems. Please see attached images.

@HarryBee. Thank you for the link, I have checked and play around with the ‘Original size’ option, still, the problem is there.

Thank you for all your reply.
This is driving me crazy.

Preferences:Transpose Units. Click Set Units, enter what you want. (cm I guess)

If you use the 3D Print Exporter plugin then you need to make sure that you press the Update Size Ratios button. The size sliders don’t automatically update and won’t reflect any changes you make to the Transpose Units.

A typical workflow would be:

  1. In the 3D Print Exporter menu, select either mm or inches.
  2. Press the Update Size Ratios button. What this does is get the current size of your model.
  3. Now set one of the slider to the dimension you want. For example, if you want your model to be 10mm high then set the Y slider to 10. (I’ve assumed you selected mm at (1) above.)
  4. You can now export your model using the STL, VRML or OBJ buttons in the 3D Print Exporter menu.

**You MUST use the 3D Print Export buttons to export if you’ve set the size in the 3D Print Exporter menu.

@rob_beddall. Thank you so so so much, you saved my day. Finally, I got this correct, although with a little bug, but, I am ok with it.

Thank you so much…Again.

I’m guessing your Tool > Export > Scale numbers were the missing math behind it.
