Hi all,
My Zbrush 4R6 P2 launched with blank screen. Any help or suggestion ? Thanks a lot
It did used to work? Did the main window show with the close button? Did you install anything into the ZBrush folders? Maybe a Windows update broke it ?
Hey there guys,
I have this same problem too, ZBrush used to work just fine 3-4 days ago (when I last launched it) and I tried it again a moment ago and it gets stuck at the “loading floppy disk” and if I click once it gives me the blank background color of ZBrush and nothing more but a loading windows circle.
The new change that I’ve made on the system is installing 3DS Max 2015 and that’s it. I didn’t do any updates (at least not that I know of because it didn’t show me on shut downs/restarts) on the system.
I run Win 8.1 Pro and I find this very weird. I tried to restart the laptop but without any luck. (I really miss working on desktops)
I have this same problem!!
I was working yesterday, today… then I restarted my laptop when I updated my bamboo drivers and I get the same issue as TheRoman now.
Any ideas? Gonna try rolling back Bamboo I guess as that is all that I changed.
Your tablet drivers shouldn’t be to blame. The most likely possibility is that some Windows updates also installed when you restarted the machine and one of those updates somehow messed you up.
If the ZBrush window isn’t initializing at all, the first thing I’d try would be to go to the Control Panel >> Uninstall a Program and remove anything that starts with “Microsoft C++”. There are probably a lot of such items! Then go to your ZBrush installation’s Troubleshoot Help folder and install the vcredist installers found there. That will put back the specific C++ items that ZBrush requires. This will probably resolve the issue.
If the ZBrush window is initializing but just hangs with the disk icon then go to C:\Users\Public\Documents\ZBrushData. Empty the VMem folder if there’s anything in it. Also try emptying the QuickSave folder. You might also try temporarily removing the CustomUserInterface4R6.cfg file found in that directory’s ZStartup folder.
I restored my system a couple days and now it works again, it was the tablet drivers! I don’t let windows update automatically and just thought… Oh I’m sculpting and painting, better have the tablet up to date…
So if it has suddenly stopped working I would recommend restoring back to when it did work - it doesn’t affect your files, just updates and settings.
Hey guys,
After all the trouble it looks like the problem went away, the way it worked for me is just by restarting the laptop a couple of times and the first thing to open was ZBrush. I tried it three times before it worked but in the end it started to run well again but even now I have to be careful of what I’m doing before I start the app. I for it will come back to life for you too.
Happy sculpting everyone!
Hey there,
i have the same problem too, but mine is 4r7 x32 version. I found a solution, i try disabling the driver of my tablet (intuos pro) first then launch zbrush then it will launch. So it’s my tablet’s driver.
