Hello people!
I read In the 3D Artist 44 about the new version of Zbrush 4 R4 soon to be released.
With new topology tools but nothing about QRemesher, only few words.
Anybody have more details?
Hugs,

Yep, it mentions it in the whats in this issue bit here…

How large an article is it? Is it a paragraph or two, or is it pretty comprehensive? Any pictures? (Drooling here, and can’t get to my local newsagent while they’re open until Saturday now)
There are two pages and some interesting images. Reveals little, but enough to leave the mouth with watering … lol!
Kurt papstein reviews zbrush4r4. 2 pages long and he talks about some of the new features in zbrush4r4 . I’s def worth picking up and reading
It looks like it’ll be adding a topology brush that lets you draw the polys on your mesh similar to how you would do it in Topogun. I thought it was kind of funny how the review talks as if QRemesher was already released and it says the release date for 4R4 is July 9th.
I suppose it’s too much to hope that it says it add native 3D Connexion support?
I can’t wait to give the new topology brush a spin : D
I’m seeing 4R4 ZClassroom videos about QRemesher in the “middle”(?) row…getting a bit excited! But the links are broken…
A few minutes ago when I came to the forums, there were a whole bunch of 4R4/QRemesher tutorial vids listed under ZClassroom Videos, but when I clicked on them, I got a “Lesson not found” message.
Now they are completely gone.
Hopefully this means it’s only a matter of time before we can access those, along with ZB 4R4!!
So just waiting for the “surprise” announcement an Siggraph then
About a fortnight to wait I’d guess.
wow… looks like good stuff…
not a whole lot of info but from the few screenshots, it looks like you can draw out either retopo polys or “thickened” polys on top of an existing tool with curves… the example that they show demonstrate only two curves drawn on a model and the polys being created between them but it looks like its implementation may be similar to qremesher… the text actually says it will give you MORE control.
they also mention the ability to insert mesh along curves which is freakin’ awesome! kinda like a “rail clone” or “duplicate along curve” in other apps and a great way to place redundant detail like bolts.
the other thing mentioned is the insert mesh brush will allow you to select a tool with subtools and the ability to pop up a palette with the ‘m’ key while using that brush so that you can select from which subtool to draw. so what that made me think of is that if you were making one of the crewmen for davey jones in the pirates of carribean movie who were covered in barnacles, you could setup a tool with a bunch of barnacle and starfish and seaweed subtools and start going to town on the character.
can’t wait!
