ZBrush 4R3, Install on Fresh PC

Hi,

I am currently running zBrush 4R3 on Win 7 64-bit.

I am considering re-formatting my hard drive, which means blowing away everything on my PC. Two things:

(1) How do I go about re-installing zBrush 4R3 on a freshly formatted PC, given that I will not have a zBrush folder to place the installer in ?
(2) I have been unable to locate my email with instructions for download of 4R3, however I have the equivalent email for 4R2B. How to I go about retrieving my 16-character serial number for use in activation ? … its not the same as the Cleverbridge reference number, is it ?

Thanks in advance,

regards,
Andrew

Your serial number is listed in that email as “serial key”. It’s four groups of four letters/numbers each.

As for the installation, if you don’t have the installer for version 4R2 or 4R2b (the link in that email you have no longer works) you’ll need a link for the stand-alone 4R3 installer. For that you’ll need to submit a support ticket.

Hi,

I actually have the 4R2 and 4R2B installers (zip files), as well as the 4.0 installer exe. So where should I start when re-installing?

PS, there is no “serial key” in the email, but there is a “Key”, I assume this is the one (next to the Ref number) ?

thanks,
Andrew

Yes. That’s your serial number.

Thanks, so which installer would I start with on a freshly-formatted PC ?

It depends. If your 4R2 or 4R2b installer is an updater, you will need to have version 4 installed first. Then you can use either of the updaters, followed by the 4R3 update.

If 4R2 or 4R2b installer is a stand-alone installer, you can start with it and then proceed immediately to 4R3.

Any of these paths will work:
4>4R2>4R3
4>4R2b>4R3
4R2>4R3
4R2b>4R3

Thanks aurick,

I have the following:

4.0_Installer
4R2_Installer
4R2b_Upgrader
4R3_Upgrader

So, I guess that means that I can start with 4R2 (assuming these filenames accurately reflect what the files are). Sorry, if I am being a bit thick about this, I just want to be sure.

I thought they were all upgrades, but clearly I was wrong.

regards,
Andrew

Yes, the 4R2 installer, then the 4R3 upgrader, then web activation.
