Is anyone using Windows XP and using zbrush 4.0 having problems saving there project files?
You really haven’t given enough info for anyone to have a real chance at helping you. What are your system specs? What error message are you getting? What are your various settings in the Preferences>Mem menu?
ZB4 and XP here work perfect. First time i see some report about XP and ZB4!
I am having a lot of trouble working with zbrush. I’ll open a document. Load a tool and start working. At the end of the day, I’ll click “Document>SaveAs”. The next day, I’ll click “Document>Open” and I will also bring the original sub tool model in just to have. The work that I did in the previous day will load, however on many occaisions I won’t beable to edit, or rotate the model. It was as if it was forzen or a saved jpeg. If anyone has any answers or suggestions, I’d greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Jeremy
The system I am running is below:
System:
Microsoft Windows XP
Professional
Version 2002
Service Pack 3
Computer:
Intel®Core™2Quad CPU
Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
2.40GHz, 3.00GB of RAM
Use “save as” in the Tool menu to save the ZTool, not the Document menu. You can’t edit it because all you did was take a picture of it by saving the document.
Yes that saves the base model in the subtools, especially if you change the shape of the model. But what if I am texturing a model and assigned a different material for example instead of the MatCap Red Wax to a MatCap Gray, and then applied different settings to the model let’s say added polypaint and upped the resolution, and finally imported different textures using the new spotlight feature. I am finding that all of these settings applied previously have been deleted or NOT SAVED when I quite and restart zbrush, even if I click “SaveAs” in the tool menu. How can I get back to where I left off in zbrush when quiting the application or do I have to redo everything to get back to the state I was previously before I quit ?
In that case you would use “Save As” in the “File” menu to save it as a Project file, but as a precaution, you should still save the ZTool.
Also, see “ZBrush Projects” starting on page 28 of ZBrush4_whats_new.pdf in your ZBrush 4.0/Documentation folder
thank you. I will look into this. Thanks for your response.
